Punk was the club in the basement of Beijing’s most chic boutique hotel, The Opposite House.
It was described as “The place where luxury goes underground”.
Thanks to Saul Diaz, resident DJ there, I had the opportunity to play there. It was the venue where to catch international DJs from all over the world as well as the best of local talent from Beijing and Shanghai. Danny Rampling and Groove Assassin are two of the names I have seen playing at Punk. People in Beijing have to thank Punk and Saul’s music direction for the great artists who played there.
I personally miss Punk but as we all know: “Good things are not forever”.
